Based on feedback from technology leaders, developers, and business stakeholders, our findings reveal a dynamic landscape where enthusiasm for AI grows as well as how companies are addressing concerns that arise while implementing these tools.

75% of the survey respondents used AI to build software in 2025. The companies that did not use AI in 2024 to create software had concerns about code quality and security. 37% of respondents said AI-generated code may contain errors, bugs, and inefficiencies, and another 37% cited security vulnerabilities as a concern.

However, 50% of the companies that did not use AI in 2024 plan to use AI to create software in 2025. While concerns remain, companies still acknowledge the importance of AI adoption as its popularity continues.

This helps ease the concern that many had on the impact of AI replacing jobs. We are seeing the opposite, as AI is creating new positions and opportunities, with teams using these tools to enhance jobs rather than replace them.

The main reason for using AI in software creation was increasing productivity by automating tasks (55%). We are also seeing companies use AI to optimize code (48%) and improve diagnostics (46%).

Companies are not just relying on AI to help them build software, but also to assist in testing, maintaining, and fixing errors when needed.

As previously mentioned, key risks of using AI for 2025 include privacy violations (e.g., social surveillance with AI technology, lack of data privacy) at 38%, biases due to AI at 37%, and the use of AI applications that have not been securely tested at 36%.

The world of software development and AI will continue to merge and evolve throughout 2025 and beyond. Both navigating and mitigating these risks will be imperative in maintaining a healthy balance between AI and human app development.
